The People's Convoy

The People's Mobilisation from all over the country to Kuala Lumpur will be headed by the leadership of the Alternative Front, students and NGOs, starting from 14th of April 2000 at night. For long-distance journey, the three main ways of travelling has been identified, that is, by way of train, express bus and car.

Train

ARAU – EL/T 1935hrs

Ezam Mohd Nor, Annuar Tahir and Zahid Md. Arip will lead the delegation from Arau, together with the people of Perlis by way of the Langkawi Express Train. This train will leave from Arau at 1935 hours on 14th April 2000. The train will stop at Alor Setar at 2009 hours to pick up Mahfuz Omar and the people of Kedah. Upon reaching Sungai Petani at 2102 hours, they will be joined by Saifuddin Nasution, Johari Abdul and their delegation. The last delegation will be from Perak, led by Khalil Shah, Hamdan Taha and the people of Perak. The train is expected to arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 0530 hours on 15th April 2000.


BUTTERWORTH – SM/9 2200hrs

Ruslan Hj. Kassim, YB Teng Chang Khim, YB Rahman Kadir, Shaari Bahari and Prof. Dr. Mansor Othman will lead the delegation from Butterworth together with the people of Penang. Accompanying them are students from the University Science Malaysia. They will embark on the Senandung night traing which leaves Butterworth at 2200 hours on 14th April 2000. This train will stop at Bukit Mertajam. Nibong Tebal, Parit Buntar, Bagan Serai, Taiping, Padang Rengas, Kuala Kangsar, Sungai Siput, Chemore, Tanjung Rambutan, Iph and several other train stations to pick up the people from Penang and Perak. The train is expected to reach Kuala Lumpur at 0635 hours on 15th April 2000.


PASIR MAS – XW/17 1852hrs

YB Rahman Yusof, YB Saufi Daud and Gobalakrishnan will head the delegation on Wau Express train which will leave Pasir Mas at 1852 hours on 14th April 2000. This train will stop at Tanah Merah, Krai, Dabong, Gua Musang, Kuala Lipis, Jerantut, Mentakab and several other stations which will take the people of Kelantan, Trengganu and Pahang. The train is expected to arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 0645 hours on 15th April 2000.


 


JOHOR BAHARU– SM/12 2340hrs

YB AZMIN ALI, FAIZAL SANUSI, SALAHUDDIN AYUB, RAHMAN OTHMAN and TIAN CHUA will lead the delegation from the Senandung/12 night train which will leave from Johor Baharu at 2340 hours on 14th April 2000. The train will stop at the stations of Holiday Plaza, Kempas Baharu, Senai, Kulai, Sedenak, Layang- laying, Renggam, Mengkibol, Kluang, Segamat, Batang Melaka and others to pick up the people of Johor and Melaka. The train is expected to arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 0615 hours on 15th April 2000.

Buses and Cars

The convoy of cars and buses will be led by youth leaders of the respective KeAdilan State Youth wings. For more information, please contact the Youth Chiefs of the various states, as listed below.
